When Bill and Hulda Reichenbach came to Seth and me with the idea of a concert benefiting Dad’s scholarship at the Park Theatre, we couldn’t say no. We felt so completely overwhelmed and honored. Not only did they offer the facility, but they also informed us that every dollar made would go towards this scholarship. They left it up to us to find a director for this wonderful event. We decided on Brian Perry. Not only is he a former student of Dad’s, but we completely trusted him to put together a concert that would really and truly represent who Dad was. We were so blessed and excited when he agreed to take on the task of directing the concert. How could you say no to an offer like this? Dad loved the Park Theatre, and he was hoping to become more involved once he retired, but of course, that was unable to happen.

Seth and I would like to officially invite you, the community of Jennings County, to The First Annual Stephen’s Favorite Songs concert on April 28 and 29 at the Park Theatre Civic Centre. We have seen an outpouring of interest from Dad’s former students who are performing in this wonderful event. Not only are Seth and I performing in memory of our father and what he’s taught us in music, we also have students performing that range from the graduating class of 1979 all the way to the present day “A Touch of Class”. Not only will there be solo’s, but also group performances, duets, and the concert will conclude with the entire cast coming together to perform two of dad’s favorite songs, and then the ever so famous “Lord Bless You and Keep You” that Dad ended every concert with.

Tickets are $25 for the balcony, $15 for the main floor, or $25 for both nights on the main floor. Seth and I hope to see you all there. Don’t forget, every dollar will be going to help a student from here in Jennings County pursue a collegiate degree in music. We thank you in advance for your support of us and this concert. If we don’t see you this time around, we hope to see you in the coming years at the annual Stephen’s Favorite Songs.
